50-£1000 CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE - 3/4 NOVEMBER

Over the next two months, I am attempting to make £1000 in time for Christmas. Starting with £50 in the account, through a series of pre-match doubles and trebles. Begin with any amount and hopefully we can all get a good return in time for the holidays.

Every week I will be posting 3 bets with increasing from 'safe' to long shot.

Please gamble responsibly and only what you can afford to lose.

Solid weekend with our Bet 1 landing comfortably, giving us a £36 profit for the weekend.

Onto the next one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With 7 wins in their last 10 games and having the best defence record this season, Atletico should be comfortable against bottom 3 side Leganes.

Without a win in 3, title favourites West Brom will be in the mood on Saturday against bottom 3 side Hull.

Top vs Bottom here and after losing 6 on the bounce, Bradford have a point to prove this weekend but even 3 points wont take them out of the relegation zone.

After a bad spell on and off the pitch, Leicester should be looking to win big at Cardiff who so far this season have conceded an avg of 2.3 goals a game.

Despite being undefeated in the league, Inverness have been plagued with draws and will have a point to prove in the derby. Hopefully this allows Ross County to bag a few goals after being held in midweek.

Livingston had made easy work of their return to the Premiership this season and could be a shout to beat Hamilton who have lost 7 of their last 9 games

A disappointing week all round as nothing comes in from us, the closest being the long as nothing on the first bet came in 😒

But let's try again and win some money back.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

League leaders County are unbeaten at home in the league, their last defeat was against their weekend opponents and will be looking to extended their lead at the top.

Struggling Stirling are on a 3 match losing streak and have only avoided defeat at home once this season. Edinburgh on the other hand, have only failed to win once on the road.

Although Wigan lead the way in terms of home points this season, they are W1L5 on the road. United's last home last was the opening day of the season.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Home against a mid-table side, Salford should manage their league average of 2 goals a game this weekend.

West Ham might not be on a good scoring run, but Leicester have a point to prove after two defeats in a row. 3 points are needed to keep up with the Europa League spots.

Just the 20 goals for Frankfurt in their last 2 outings. Chasing a top four away at struggling Nurnberg should be a good shout.

Winning all of their last 10 games, Arsenal should be good to beat a Palace side who have scored only 5 goals in the league

£50-£1000 CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE - 20/21 OCTOBER

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A disappointing week all round as nothing comes in from us, the closest being Bet 1 as Dunfermline can't beat Alloa at home, drawing 2-2.

Thankfully the international break is over so back to winning ways

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

West Brom continued their good run in the Championship before the break winning 4-1, making it 17/21 points since Sep 01 but more importantly they made it 16 goals in those 7 games, making them a good bet to score at least 2 away at mid-table Wigan.

Peterborough ended a run of 3 games without a win last weekend and with a host of teams breathing down their necks for a promotion spot, including opponents Accrington - they can't afford to lose this time out.

The league 2 leaders Lincoln are averaging over 2 goals a game, home this weekend to bottom 2 team Cambridge should see value in Over 1.5 for the home side.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pre-season championship favourites Stoke made a slow start to the season but back to back clean sheet wins leave them 3 points off the play-offs. A home win against a Birmingham side plagued with draws in their (8/12 so far) should be good value.

Arbroath sit top of Scottish League 1 unbeaten and are at home against Dumbarton who have picked up 4 point in their last 6 points and sit in the bottom 2.

Although Shewsbury don't concede many goals (avg 1 per game) they struggle to score (less than 1 per game). On the other hand, Sunderland average 2 per game and even away from home here look like a decent shout for a win.

SCOTTISH CUP - LONGSHOT TREBLE

It was disappointment for our Bet 1 with Portsmouth deciding they would finally lose their unbeaten record at home, disappointing as both our other selections here won comfortably.

Again, in our Bet 3, we were only two goals away from landing out 45/1 with 2/3 selections flying in.

Luckily on Sunday, we got our first win after Malaga managed to hold onto a draw against 10 men, saving the weekend and giving us a £30.22 profit overall.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The International break will make it a bit tougher this week but more of the same.

Barnsley have made a good start to life back in League One but so far, their best results have all been away from home. Couple this with an in-form Luton starting to find the back of the net and and a decent price for Barnsley to not keep a clean sheet is hard to avoid.
Despite's Alloa's impressive result in the last round, Dunfermline are unbeaten in 5. 1/2 is a good price for them at home here.
Exeter haven't lost in 8, sitting pretty in the top 2 of England's 4th tier. Swindon on the other hand haven't lived up to pre-season expectations and are on a bad spell, winning just 3 in their last 10.
Amongst the favourites to make an immediate return to League 1, MK Dons have had a mixed start, plagued with draws. After winning their last two without conceding a DC away at Cambridge who are in the relegation zone, picking up 1 point from 7 games is a good shout.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the player crisis in Denmark, all seemed to be forgotten as they comfortably beat Wales in the Nations League, who themselves gave Ireland a thrashing. Facing a real threat of relegation from their group, Ireland need a win at home, giving Denmark a good chance of bagging a goal as Ireland try to attack.

Despite an above average showing in the WC Qualifiers, Slovenia have fared poorly this year, most recently losing to Bulgaria and Cyprus. Norway on the other hand have had some decent results this year.

Both Holland and Germany have a lot to prove. With the former missing out on the WC and the later wishing they didn't turn up. A German win looks good value here considering when the weekend comes it will be over a year since the dutch last won a competitive game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a shaky start to the season, Arsenal are finding form and more importantly - the back of net. 16 goals in September - the same number as Fulham have conceded in the Premier League this season, tying them with Cardiff and Huddersfield with the worst record thus far.

West Brom are the Championships top scorers, putting 7 past QPR in August and more recently, 4 and 3 against Bristol City and Preston respectively. Reading, on the other hand, have won only 2 of their first 11 games, averaging just over a goal per game.

Portsmouth are leading the third tier unbeaten, winning 8 of their opening 11 league games. Conceding just 8 goals in the process. After winning their first two league games, Gillingham have drawn 2 and lost 6 of their following league games and head back Fratton Park after losing 4-0 there just last month in a cup game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7 games in, Dundee United have shipped 12 goals including 5 last week at home. After a poor September, being dumped out of the Challenge Cup to Semi-Professional Alloa and only picking up 4 points, a point against Alloa and a win at in-crisis Falkirk - their only clean sheet of the campaign. Table toppers Ayr on the other hand are free scoring, averaging 2.8 goals per game over the last 5 league games.

National League Salford City had a hard time getting out the blocks but are currently on a 6 match winning run and unbeaten in 11, keeping clean sheets in each of their previous away games. Meanwhile Dover are 3 points adrift, winless in 10 and have the joint worst conceding record in the league.

Since relegation last season, Malaga have won 6 and lost 1 of their first 7 games in the Spanish second tier, letting in just 2 goals. Deportivo haven't had a shut out in 4 so a double chance looks decent here.
