£50-£1000 CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE - 6/7 OCTOBER

Over the next two months, I am attempting make £1000 in time for Christmas. Starting with £50 in the account, through a series of pre-match doubles and trebles. Begin with any amount and hopefully we can all get a good return in time for the holidays.

Every week I will be posting 3 bets with increasing from 'safe' to long shot.

Please gamble responsibly and only what you can afford to lose.

After a shaky start to the season, Arsenal are finding form and more importantly - the back of net. 16 goals in September - the same number as Fulham have conceded in the Premier League this season, tying them with Cardiff and Huddersfield with the worst record thus far.

West Brom are the Championships top scorers, putting 7 past QPR in August and more recently, 4 and 3 against Bristol City and Preston respectively. Reading, on the other hand, have won only 2 of their first 11 games, averaging just over a goal per game.

Portsmouth are leading the third tier unbeaten, winning 8 of their opening 11 league games. Conceding just 8 goals in the process. After winning their first two league games, Gillingham have drawn 2 and lost 6 of their following league games and head back Fratton Park after losing 4-0 there just last month in a cup game.

7 games in, Dundee United have shipped 12 goals including 5 last week at home. After a poor September, being dumped out of the Challenge Cup to Semi-Professional Alloa and only picking up 4 points, a point against Alloa and a win at in-crisis Falkirk - their only clean sheet of the campaign. Table toppers Ayr on the other hand are free scoring, averaging 2.8 goals per game over the last 5 league games.

National League Salford City had a hard time getting out the blocks but are currently on a 6 match winning run and unbeaten in 11, keeping clean sheets in each of their previous away games. Meanwhile Dover are 3 points adrift, winless in 10 and have the joint worst conceding record in the league.

Since relegation last season, Malaga have won 6 and lost 1 of their first 7 games in the Spanish second tier, letting in just 2 goals. Deportivo haven't had a shut out in 4 so a double chance looks decent here.
